Apple Butter Festival! ♥

Our most recent trip was to the Apple Butter Fall Festival in Spencer, Indiana.   This sweet little town had lots and lots of food, and booths filled with crafts, and clothing… even a horse drawn carriage!   Another great festival with food, music, and lots of handcrafted items to fall in love with ♥   I had pumpkin spice funnel cake.  It was so yummy!

Pioneer Village Festival! ♥

We recently went to yet another fall festival!  This time in Mitchell, Indiana.  It was a lovely country drive, about an hour away from where we live.   We visited the Pioneer Village, in Spring Mill State Park for the Candlelight Tour Festival!  The Pioneer village is filled with beautiful log cabins, and people were dressed in pioneer clothing.  There was lots of music, and food.  The persimmon pudding was delicious!  Faith really enjoyed listening to the music, and playing in the creek!

“Spring Mill State Park offers a powerful illustration of the link between the natural and cultural worlds. The water flowing from several cave springs led to the founding of an industrial village in the early 1800s. Pioneer entrepreneurs took advantage of a constant water source that never froze, using it to power several gristmills, a wool mill, a saw mill, and a distillery. In turn, pioneer settlers shaped the landscape around the village, clearing land for agriculture and timber.”

“Founded in 1814, the village contains 20 historic buildings to explore. The centerpiece is the 3-story limestone gristmill, built in 1817, that still grinds cornmeal today. Heritage interpreters portray the year 1863 and demonstrate period crafts.”

Hunter’s Honey Farm Fall Festival! ♥

Our next fall festival we went to was the Hunter’s Honey Farm Fall Festival!  You can watch them extract and bottle this year’s honey.  You can tour the Honey Barn and Beehive.  There’s face painting, a bouncy house, horse rides, hay rides, and even helicopter rides!  There’s ferrets and donkeys to see.  There’s fresh apples and cider from Gregory Orchard.  Lots of pumpkins, and mums!  There’s honey treats such as honey snow cones, honey ice cream, caramel apples, and the Busy Bee Cafe where you can sit down to a lunch that includes honey in every dish.  I had some of their hot cider, and it smelled sooo cinnamony.. like potpourri!  Delicious!
