Cribs, Recliners, keys, and a little luck.

Friday morning, I got ready for work as usual.  Fed Rocky, leashed him up, grabbed my tea, and my purse, and headed out the door.  Then I realized… I left my keys on the kitchen table.  I really thought that pregnancy-induced forgetfulness was an old wive’s tale.  I was wrong.  I mean, I saw my keys sitting on the table as I was packing my lunch for work!  But my zombie brain just grabbed my purse (just inches away from my keys) and I walked out the damn door.  In my defense,  it is my habit to keep my keys in my purse, but I knew my keys were on the table!  What is wrong with me!?  Luckily I didn’t forget my cell phone, so I called my sister, and she took me to work.  My dad picked me up after work, and (once again I forgot) that he had made spare keys for my house and car.  Wish I could have remembered that in the morning while I was sitting outside, waiting for my sister to pick me up.  Goodness.

My St. Patrick’s Day started out badly.  We woke up and got ready to get our Slumber Time Elite by Simmons crib at Target.  I grabbed my rings out of my strawberry soap dish, and my engagement ring fell down the floor vent!  OMGoodness I already felt the tears starting to well up.  Aaron got a flashlight.  I sat next to the vent, trying to peer down it with the flashlight.  The duct pipe is curved, so I was hoping it was lying in the curved part, and didn’t go all the way down.  I didn’t see it.  I put my hand down in it.  Still nothing.  I’m holding back tears.  Put my hand down farther… I felt something fuzzy.  I hope it was insulation, and not an animal, but I didn’t care.  Put my hand down as far as I could… felt it!  Grabbed it!  Thank God!  A little Irish luck was on my side.

And yes, there is such a thing as “Pregnancy Butterfingers.”   All I wanted to do was take a nap after that.

My mom has a 20% discount card for Big Lots that she said we can use towards a recliner.  I really need one to breast feed, and rock the baby in during all those middle-of-the-night feedings.  So we went to Big Lots, and tried out all of the recliners.

The one I was sitting in, in the picture above, was heat and massage.  Was nice, but I don’t want to have to plug in my chair, and have a cord run across the room so somebody can trip on it.  I woke baby girl up with all that shaking around.  I didn’t find anything I liked there, so we have to keep looking.

Aaron’s parents gave us money for the crib.  Thanks Bill and Terri! ♥  Aaron put it together just fine! …

What a handy-man he is!  It looks beautiful! ;)

Tomorrow is the big day.  I will be having an ultrasound done to make sure the CPCs are gone on baby girl’s brain, and I’ll be having that yucky glucose screening test done.  Keep us in your prayers!

Great News!

Aaron and I were on our way to the doctor’s office around 3pm.  It was so beautiful out.  No sun, but the sky was a deep blue with bright puffy clouds.  It rained just a bit on our way there, but the breeze was warm.  I loved it.

Once we got there, the first thing I did was drink that glucose drink.  It was fruit punch flavored, and really cold.  It really didn’t taste bad at all.  Not terribly sweet.  I was able to easily drink it down within 5 minutes.

While my blood was sweetening for the hour, we then had our ultrasound done.  Here is our video…

We were so relieved to hear that the choroid plexus cysts are completely gone.  She is perfectly healthy! :)   I can tell she is one tough girl!  She weighs 1 pound 14 ounces right now, and I weigh 141, with normal blood pressure.  Thank you Jesus for your love and grace.   Thank you everyone that has prayed for us! ♥

Then I got my blood drawn.  I hate needles so much.  I can’t bare to even look at the needle.  I just held Aaron’s hand, and looked at him.   I will know the test results tomorrow.  Oh, by the way, I got a B+ on my History exam.  I just had to throw that in there :)

I’m a happy girl :)  Aaron was so comforting, and tried to keep me laughing, as always.  Best hubby EVER ♥

We went out to eat at Five Guys restaurant after the appointment.  I had such a huge cheeseburger!  It was almost 6 inches tall!  It had everything on it :)  This is what it looked like!

Then we went home to celebrate the good news with CAKE and ICE CREAM! :)
Here are some new ultrasound pictures of baby girl …

And I thought I was worn out!   We will have a sweet sleep tonight ♥

My old dolls and Week 27!

It has been a very busy, but productive weekend.  We bought a new Dyson DC25 vacuum,  I did some housecleaning, hubby mowed the lawn and tilled the back part of our yard in preparation for some wildflower seeds, and I finally started getting some baby things put away in the baby room.

I moved a dresser into the baby’s room, hung up a few pictures, and started putting away the many baby hand-me-downs I’ve received already.  Next, I went into my garage and pulled out my old Cabbage Patch Kid doll, and some other old dolls and teddy bears.  I even have a vintage Baby Alive doll, and Ronald McDonald doll :)  I will soon take pictures once the baby room is complete!

My belly looks square.  It looks like I swallowed a cardboard box.

Next week I will officially be in my 3rd trimester!
