1/2 Centimeter Dilated! 70% Effaced! WEEK 37!

I just had my weekly baby-checkup.  My blood pressure is still a little high.  They checked it 3 times.  My poor arm had red welts on it.  I have really sensitive skin, and can’t stand the blood pressure cuff.

The first time it was 150/70.  The second time it was 139/72.  The third time it was 129/70 something… I can’t remember.   So anyway,  they want me back in 4 days, instead of waiting a full week, to keep a closer eye on my blood pressure.

My urine sample was normal, and the Group B test I took last week was negative, so that’s good!  After my cervical exam, the Dr said I was 1/2 centimeter dilated, and 70% effaced.  He said that it’s normal to be around 50% effaced, but I’m at 70%.  I’m making progress!  He said, “That means you probably won’t have to be induced.”  Yay!  Baby Faith may arrive sooner than expected!   By week 37 I am now considered full-term so whenever she plans on making an appearance, it will be completely normal, and she should be fine.

Since the exam I have been having some spotting.  This is the first time this has happened to me so I called the doctor just to make sure it isn’t anything to worry about.  The doctor on call said, “It’s normal for some bleeding to occur up to 24 hours after an exam.”  So we don’t have to make a mad rush to the hospital.  I am having no contractions or any pain.  Well, a little pain, and alot of pressure near the bottom of my belly, especially when I’m standing/walking, but nothing intolerable.  I don’t believe I’ve even had any Braxton Hicks contractions, yet.

Last week I wasn’t dilated or effaced at all.  It’s great to see that my body is finally preparing for delivery.  Please keep us all in your prayers for a safe delivery, and a happy healthy baby.

Fat fingers and week 31!

I love this!  It’s a necklace that holds your rings in a very easy and convenient way.  Great for pregnant women whose hands are swollen.

Here is a link to to more details and prices.   http://emilyc.com/about/Last night I woke up at 12 with the most horrible heartburn I’ve ever had in my life.  I didn’t eat anything that would have caused such bad heartburn.  For dinner I had baked fish, rice and veggies.  I had some dried fruit as a snack, and ate some Total cereal with sliced strawberries and bananas.  Good and healthy food right?  So I know it’s not the food that caused the heartburn.  It was the HORMONES!  Ugh!  I was up for an hour, just sitting on the couch waiting for the pain to subside.  I had 3 Tums, and ate a slice of plain bread.  Nothing helped.   Although my heartburn is gone now, my chest still aches from that horrible pain.

I’m really glad I have such an understanding boss.  Today at work,  nearing the end of the day,  we were finishing up orders, and I didn’t really have much left to do.  I asked my boss, “What needs to be done next?”  He said, “Well you can update the website…”   This wasn’t extremely important, so I whined and said, “But I don’t want to…”  He laughed and said,  “Awww…”  I asked him, “Can I leave a little early?”  He laughed and said, “Yeah.”    There’s an upside to these pregnancy pains :)

I weigh close to 150 pounds now.  Wow.  It is getting very uncomfortable to eat large meals.  If I eat too much, I have no room to breathe!   I will need to get new shirts soon because they are now reaching their stretching point.I found another super cute time-lapse video I wanted to share …

Baby Faith has been kicking and moving around like crazy these past couple days.  I know she’s getting anxious to move out :)   Sometimes I tell her, “Just wait until you meet your Daddy.  He’s so much fun.  You’re gonna love him.”  I just know she’s going to be a Daddy’s girl 100% :)

I wish I knew what position she is in because when she wiggles or kicks, I can never tell if I’m feeling a hand, elbow, knee, foot, etc.   I’m getting so anxious to see this little girl.  Tomorrow is my next baby-checkup.  They’ll check my weight, blood pressure, and measure my tummy.  So far everything has been right on track; healthy and normal :)
