Baby Shower! Food, Family, Friends, and Week 35!
I had an amazing weekend. Aaron and I drove about 160 miles up north to have a baby shower that my family put together for me. Most of my friends and family live up in the northern Indiana and Chicago area. I was born and raised in Chicago, and I miss home so much. I have to say, it was so wonderful getting to see so much family, and my old childhood friends! Best of all, my 90 year old Grandmother came to the party! I was smiling from ear to ear when she came up to me. She rubbed my belly, all smiles, and said, “So precious! So precious!”
We had a pot-luck baby shower, and there were so many delicious foods to eat. We had a beautiful pink and white sweet table, with yummy cupcakes and candy. I made the cupcakes, and the floral centerpieces. I had so much fun putting the flowers together, and making 72 cupcakes the day before the shower! My kitchen smelled soooo goooood! ♥
Aaron and I went picture CRAZY of course! There were just SO MANY beautiful things to capture! Food, candy, flowers, gifts, balloons, tons of family, friends and hyper kids! We just could NOT put our camera down! We wanted to capture every single moment!
So here are the pictures! Don’t forget to click on the pictures to enlarge them, and to also read captions!
After we got home, we unloaded our gifts from the car. Put them all on the living room floor, and literally went straight to bed. We both were exhausted, but happy. The next morning I snapped pictures of each baby shower gift I received, and also the adorable gift bags, and beautiful cards I got! This baby blog is pretty much my baby book, and I love to document every moment and every picture. I don’t ever want to forget the great gifts I got from my loved ones! And I want to thank every one of you for all of the gifts. Aaron and I couldn’t be more happy, and I feel so blessed!
Several weeks ago I told Aaron I want a pinwheel for my flower bed. He laughed at me and said I was silly. He’s not a fan of pinwheels, lol. I came home from work just the other day, and while I was driving up, I saw a pinwheel on our mailbox. I smiled. He’s so sweet. Then, as I was pulling into the driveway, I saw more! I started laughing! Aaron was kneeling by a tree and started snapping pictures, haha!

My next baby check-up is Wednesday. I will be having an examination this time, and a Group B Streptococcus screening. Wish us luck!
Heartburn, Leg Pain, Final Exams, and Week 32!
It’s storming out right now. A nice cool breeze is blowing. I love that warm weather is here!
We went to another baby check-up today. I still weigh 150 pounds. Blood pressure is great. My oxygen level is 98%. Faith has flip-flopped and moved her little self upside down now. No wonder she hasn’t been kicking my bladder. Her head is down now. Good girl! :)
I can’t believe there is only 8 more weeks left. That is going to fly by in no time. It feels like my pregnancy has already gone by lightening fast. I just can’t believe that we will officially me “Mommy” and “Daddy” in less than two months. Wow.
During my pregnancy I have been hearing about the likeliness of muscle cramps. Early Saturday morning I woke up with one, and it was awful. I have only had one charlie horse before when I was a little girl, and it was nothing compared to this one! I scared Aaron the moment I started groaning in pain. Poor Hubby probably wondered if I was in labor! It seemed like no matter what I did, or Aaron did, to help relax my calf muscle, it only felt worse! I got up on my feet, and as soon as my foot touched the ground, it stretched out my calf muscle and the worse pain hit. Shortly after that, the pain finally started easing up. I am not looking forward to anymore muscle cramps :(
I get heartburn almost everyday now. It usually happens at night when I’m sleeping, and then I have to get up, and stay up for about an hour or more until it subsides. Tums doesn’t help. Cold milk or popsicles help, but only for a short while. I literally just have to sit up for a couple hours for it to finally go away. I have been exausted. I try and nap after dinner when I get home from work. After dinner, or after any meal actually, I feel like I ate a ton! Just today at work, I ate a banana and it felt like I ate 50 of them. My appetite has lessened, and I can only eat small portions before feeling very full. Faith must be kicking at my stomach now that she is head-down. No wonder I have heartburn, and can’t eat much. She wants more room in her womb!
This is the LAST week of the semester, and I can’t keep napping when I get home! I have to get my butt in gear and study for my last History exam, and for my last Fitness and Wellness exam. I also have a History term paper to finish up. As of now, my standing grades for the semester are an A in Fitness and Wellness, and a B in History. Of course that can change if I do bad on my exams. Ugh.
I am SO ready to finish classes for the semester so I can have more time to mentally prepare for Faith to arrive soon! On May 19th my Mom and sister are throwing me a baby shower up north where I use to live. All of my family, and all of my old friends live around Chicago and northern Indiana. I can’t wait to see everyone. It won’t be a “girls only” baby shower. It’s more important to me that I see all of my old friends, family, cousins, Aunts, Uncles, and my Grandma who is 90! After Faith is born, who knows when I’ll get the chance to see them all again, so I am really looking forward to seeing everyone, and taking lots and lots of pictures! I got my Baby Registry ready, and we will be having a Pot Luck dinner. Family, friends, and tons of food! Perfect!
